deity Dirty 30 Handlebar and Life Savers
Thursday, April 17th, 2008
For 2008, deity has redone a lot of their products. Their new bar this year, the Dirty 30, is 30″ (760mm) wide, made out of 7075 T6 AL and is offered in a low rise unseen by deity before. Also new are the Lifesaver bar ends that are a slim design and have a nice rounded profile to them. See more details inside.

The Dirty 30 handlebars are a reflection of what deity’s users have wanted. A lightweight bar that is light, wide, pretty low, and not too expensive. deity delivers just that in their Dirty 30 bars.

The bars have a very nice feel to them and we’ve been riding them for awhile now. The white bars we got have shown some wear, but that’s what you’re going to get when you buy a white bar. The finish is more durable than the older deity bars we’ve had, but they still ended up getting scraped and the white finish shows it easier than other darker colors.

The bars don’t have any cut lines, so you’ll have to whip out the trusty measuring tape if you want to cut these down. The tolerances on these bars are a bit tight. We had to persuade some parts on them a bit more than normal.

Overall these bars have proved to be quite nice in terms of feel and control. The bars come in a wide 30″ so you may have to cut them down but we’d recommend trying them out a few times at a longer length just to see what a wider bar can do for you.

If you’re unsure of what length to start out with, position yourself in your normal pushup position. Have someone measure the outside of where your hands are. Cut your bars to that length as realistically anything more than that will probably be too long for you. This is a good starting point in terms of approximately what your optimal bar length should be.

The Lifesaver end caps fit cleanly on the bars and can be used as a replacement cap if you’re running ODI style lock-on grips.

The Lifesavers have two small countersunk allen’s that hold the cap securely onto the bar.

All deity parts come with a crash replacement policy that is stellar (1/2 off msrp) should you happen to break any deity part that isn’t covered under manufacturer defect. The Dirty 30 is priced competitively and has a very bold finish that will turn heads. The bars are wide and offer what a lot of riders are seeking these days. The Lifesaver end caps do what they’re designed to do in a slim package with some style.
Check out the other fine items deity has new for 2008 on their website. They’ve put in a lot of hard work to create newer parts that are not only lighter, but better in every way. If you have any more questions about these parts or deity’s other goods feel free to hit up Eric and he’ll be glad to talk with you. YOu can also purchase these and many other deity goods at the deity web store, or from RideSFO.

How do the lifesavers do with clogging up with dirt, trail debris, etc? They look nice in your fresh pics but I notice they aren’t mounted on the dirty bike with the test bars….curious if the hole is a drawback.

Josh, the life savers are on a different bike (dirt jumper) and we didn’t have the life savers when we originally got those white bars.
Yes dirt could get in there if you were to lay the bike down into the dirt.

Definitely give the 30″ width a try before you cut them. Mine are still full width and they rock!

I’m rocking the dirty 30’s and they feel great! however, the paint is very easy to scratch off. I am sure this is one of those weight vs. strength (in terms of paint strength) things.
Good work deity on the awesome bars. *****
