Banshee Legend MK I
Thursday, March 13th, 2008The guys over at Banshee sent over some information on their latest and greatest. There will be 50 selected riders on them this year before its available to the masses in 2009. Check out some of the first shots inside of the Legend!

Disclaimer: Make sure you have some Kleenex handy
Banshee Bikes set out to build a downhill bike and this is unlike any other Banshee they’ve designed previously. Keith has been working on this for some time (even partly when he as in grad school) and it looks to be a solid weapon for a downhill bike. This will be their flagship downhill bike. Their goal is a 10.5lbs frame including the shock once its all said and done.
We’ll skip over the details of the Legend as you can read up on it extensively on the Banshee Blog. The bikes are made to Banshee’s specifications but the frames are welded/machined at Pacific. The current pivot hardware will be replaced once the proper pieces arrive and the machining will be smoothed out on the production frames. You can also see the tentative geometry here.

Interesting - this is pretty much the way I would have re-designed the 1st generation Demo 8. I actually have sketches going back to 2005 that look similar to this.
Very clean and I like the use of the solid rear triangle - makes for a burly and stiff design.
Well done fellas!

I agree with cK regarding the demo redesign, but you know specialized will die clutching the FSR patent in their knarled and bitter hands.
Whats the deal with the two shock mounts on the lower link?
Im not sure how well its going to pedal but…..
Nice work banshee!!

Actually, 7″ or 8.5″
oh and this bike should pedal as well as any DH bike on the planet, and much better than most!

Nice frame, but just one quarrel to pick, and that is, Why do they have to put it right out there that they are made by the lowest bike company in the world “Pacific”?!!! No way would I pay over $1000 for a frame with “Pacific” in big letters!

Banshee-Ripper, Pacific Cycle is not the same as Pacific Cycles. They’re not the same company so it can be confusing but its not the same.
