PUSH Vivid 4 way shock

As we move further into 2008 PUSH Industries is excited to announce a new development program geared specifically towards the Downhill Racing segment of the marketplace.

Darren Murphy from PUSH commented, “Our goal really is to see what kind of performance we can get out of MTB suspension if we remove the thinking that we’re restricted by the stock shock or fork chassis. It’s not that we’re working with junk, in fact far from it! Today’s MTB suspension components are precision works of art with tremendous performance and reliability. At the same time however, manufactures have to stay within certain guidelines to deliver the product to the mass market. We have some great resources such as our leverage rate analysis hardware and software, on-board data logging, dynamometer, and CNC machining capabilities all under our roof so we feel like we’re really well equipped to take this on.”

The first program for test riders will be focused around the new Rock Shox Vivid rear shock. Specifically the Santa Cruz V10 and Iron Horse Sunday platforms, as both of these bikes have unique characteristics. The new PUSH World Cup Tune features separate external Hi and Low speed compression adjust, bringing the Vivid into the company of the Cane Creek Double Barrel as a completely adjustable 4-way damping system. This combined with new proprietary seal and wiper systems designed specifically for maximum sealability and minimum friction, 5th generation VxR high flow internal main cylinder piston, reservoir extension for increased oil and gas volume, bottoming system, and position-locking adjustable spring retainer all ensure that this unit will be ready to rip!

Pricing at this time is still undetermined but will be announced later.  For more information stay tuned to www.pushindustries.com

it is fantastic to see people going ahead and not only supporting, but creating an after market suspension product. at the end of the day with the services and products that PUSH are offering this is essentially what a customer has access to. It has worked great for many other hight performance sports and industries, and i do not doubt that it will advance our industry, and the products we ride.

  2. sicklines Says:

Agreed! I think this will only help the consumer dial in their bike even more with such a fine product. Amazing they got this program ramped up so quickly.

  3. Andre C Says:

I had my rocco tuned by Push and they did an awesome job. What they offer is a valuable service for people who are looking to fine tune their bikes. I hope they continue to expand their services.

    DO WANT!

  5. Enrico650 Says:

Impresive! , the whole idea about the added volume at the canister is great, but the high and low speed compresion for a price lower than a double barrel? A+A+A+A+

  6. Scooter Says:

    Rockshox fails again.

Its great that Push is servicing them.

However I’m so sick of seeing dampers that have position sensitive damping as opposed to velocity sensitive damping.

This is why the Double Barrel beats the competition hands down, and will continue to do so unil the rest of the companies figure it out.

But hey if marketing is all it takes to sell things to mountain bikers, more power to them. They’ve figured out their market.

    Let the Vivid bandwagon commence.

  7. motohead Says:

Sometimes “marketing” is useful. Check the company literature- the Vivid is a velocity sensitive rear damper in stock form and with the Push mods! The Vivid can take down the DB head to head out of the box.

  8. man w/onehand Says:

motohead I’d love to see a head to head w/these two shocks. My experience w/RS leads me to seriously doubt they have put anywhere near the effort that CC & Ohlins have to produce their shock, much less got anywhere near the same results. I’ll put my CCDB up against ANY RS product, PUSH’d or not, anyday on any terrain. I have a DHX that has been PUSH’d and the CCDB is hands down a better shock. I will say the DHX is decent AFTER it is PUSH’d……stock DHX = junk.
