Revised Rotec RL9

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Rotec has been hard at work refining their Lawwill RL9. This newest version is significantly lighter and reworked a good bit. Check out more detail shots of it in the gallery Ivan passed along. Looks good. Rotec has got some new things in the works so keep an eye on them.

That looks so much cleaner and lighter. II actually like it quite a bit. I’ve never used a bike with lawwill suspension, how does it perform in comparison to some more popular designs?

mine have a feeling of “flat tire” i have a double barrel on it… it took a lot of time to make work it right…
when the bike is set-up well is the most active and controller rear end ever used in my life..
Top notch stuff for real… amazing stuff!!!

There’s a lot to the design, and this one specifically tackled a lot of problems common with the Lawwill implementation in bikes.

    Lots of benefits…

    • A concentric bb - The bottom bracket is a pivot point.
    • Floating rear brake
    • Minimal chain growth
    • Rearward axle path
    • Active progressive suspension
    • The chainguide (accepts iscg05, or iscg) moves with the rear wheel making it a lot quieter and smoother operation (similar to how some manuf are now putting the front derailleur on the rear triangle)
    • Stiff/Strong/Reliable design
    • and more.

There’s been a few other Lawwill bikes, google em and you should find a few (Yeti, Schwinn come to mind)
