For 2008, Troy Lee Designs has some new lids that we’ve got a hold of to show you. The D2 Carbon helmet is very lightweight and offers some pretty stylish graphics that really catch the eye. See more on the 2008 D2 Carbon helmet inside.

D2 Carbon helmets consist of 60% carbon fiber, 20% aramid, and are then reinforced with 20% fiberglass. The carbon in this D2 Carbon helmet is exposed visually quite a bit more than previous models.

The D2’s flow-through ventilation system includes four intake and exhaust ports.

A fully interchangeable, washable, MX-style padded liner as well as a D-ring system. There is also a mud guard on on the underside of the helmet that you can see below that helps to keep mud and debris out of your nose and mouth.

The titanium visor screws help to set this helmet off just a bit more as well.

The D2 Carbon helmet is very lightweight at only 979g for this XL/XXL and might be a bit minimalistic for some.

Troy Lee says that their D2 helmets meet or exceed safety approval rating requirements from CSPC, ASTM (BMX and downhill), and DE.
