Earthed 5: The Law of Fives

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Got a chance to check out Earthed 5 last week thanks to DIRT / Alex / and Mark T. It’s been watched about 10 times… Lets just say if you want to see some of the best world cup footage, this is a must see. More inside on this gem of a movie.

If you’re not familiar with the Earthed series, it essentially follows the World cup and other key downhill races. Tons of riding footage, talking is kept to a minimum, and its a stellar presentation of how to rip on a downhill bike. Check out Earthed 1 - 4 if you’re new to the game. Earthed 5 is the fifth Earthed movie and Alex Rankin captures the race environment and tension very well.

The movie begins a bit differently than typical Earthed movies and is odd at first but quickly settles into a more standard Earthed movie. The trailer is in no way indicative of the way the rest of the move plays. It’s pretty standard Earthed bliss in its natural form after the first few minutes. There are some new helmet camera shots included as well that add to the movie but aren’t quite as good quality wise.  The music is hit or miss personally for me and some of the audio could’ve been amplified in certain places. Onto what really matters…

If you’re into downhill racing, this movie is a must buy. It will without a doubt leave you wanting to go ride and it will make you have a new respect for what the words fast, smooth, and skill really mean.

VAS entertainment is distributing it (800-727-6689). You can order it through BTI with just about any shop and it should be available pretty soon i’ve heard.

The euro/PAL version plays fine in computers though if you’re itching bad.

  3. Billy Says:

when is the non euro version available?
