2008 FSA Gravity Wheelset

New this year, FSA has their Gravity wheelset. Look out for their Gravity Light wheelset coming out soon as well. The FSA Gravity wheelset features direct pull spokes in an attempt at making a stronger and more reliable wheel by avoiding using the typical j-bend spoke. Check out the details inside.

The disc only wheelset shown here is the 20mm / 135mm setup. The rear is a quick release but you can purchase a 10mm/12mm conversion.
- 6061/T6 sleeve-jointed rim with stainless eyelets.

The FSA Gravity wheelset isn’t the cheapest wheelset out there but does provide benefits over a conventional wheelset. The engagement on the hubs could be a bit more (20pt). The rims aren’t welded together like more expensive rims but are sleeve-jointed and have held up fine. The straight pull spokes eliminate the bend in conventional spokes and this isn’t a cheap thing to provide. Replacing straight pull spokes is a bit easier than standard spokes, but sourcing them could be a bit harder in a pinch. The wheels are solid and can take a beating whether you’re using them for street, park, freeride, urban, or downhill.

I have a set of these wheels and i like them except that the spokes seem to pop out of the hub really easily. Ive trued them several time but they still seem to do it. Overall good wheels!

Jon,
Make sure they’re tensioned properly as well. The spokes can’t pop out of the hub the way they’re designed unless you had a spoke completely come loose and fall through the hub body itself which is pretty hard/impossible.
It sounds like they’re coming loose at the nipple. Try using some linseed oil or tri-flow to get better tension when you true the wheel.

Hey Jon i have the same problem. Over all good wheels though. They are super strong.
