just out of couriosity… how many people would like to run an integrated headset over a standard headset?

Interesting question…
What are the benefits of running an integrated 1 1/8 headset on a dirt jumper / urban bike?
I think they look cleaner, might give a little lower stack height but it gives you less options for headsets, and a potential area to mess up as well.

Ok pros and cons of integrated over standard headset,
Pro:
Reduce stack height
reduce weight (average saving maybe 50g)
looks cleaner
Con:
Fewer headset options (although there are more designs coming through as popularity increases)
If the cups are pressed in wrongly, then it could damage the head tube. (although this is no different to pressing bearings into suspension pivots.)

Personally i’d say go for the integrated one so long as there are solid headsets available for it. A lot of the up and coming bikes are going this route, and its super clean.
BlkMrkt does it, the new Superco frames do as well, etc.
I’d just make sure the headset area is reamed/faced at the factory.

Yup, I second your opinion. for this frame at least! I think style, weight and low stack height are some of the top priorities for this type of frame, and also the loading on the headset is going to be less than that of a DH bike on the whole.

I think you should also make a custom top headset bearing cap if you can. Might be a pretty cool addition.
Also, if you can make a custom plate that has the bike production # on it with some other info i think that’d be pretty cool since it sounds like it’ll be ltd production. Sorta like Yeti.

integrated headsets are very popular in the Dirt/Street scene. They say that integrated are stronger and require less maintenance.
I think the perfect headset should be threaded to the headtube…
The only things I”ll change in that frame is adding U-brake / V-Brake mounts and Spanish BB. However, the main users for this 2 things prefer CrMo frames.
(And the spanish BB question can be solved with the FlyBikes Euro to Spanish bb…)
But it looks a nice frame, nimble and light and not a “anchor”
