National Downhill Championship Steve Peat Injured…
Monday, July 16th, 2007Apparently Steve Peat crashed in this past weekends qualifications injuring his ankle and hopefully will heal up quickly before worlds. Marc Beaumont and Tracy Moseley overcame the adverse weather conditions and defended their downhill titles this past weekend in Rhelola Forest.
“However, apart from the rain, there was another dampner thrown over the weekend when Steve Peat crashed in qualification and badly injured his ankle. He was rushed to hospital and it’s believe his injury has been operated on. This injury obviously throws his participation in the Fort William World Championships into doubt - the whole sport will wish him well and hope he’s back on his bike in time for the Worlds.”
Also of note from Si Paton, the next NPS race at Rugog has been canceled.
With the wettest June on record and July almost looking the same, this has left the pit fields at Rugog inaccessible along with our two back up courses at Caersws and Moelfre.
SPS Events will let you all know by Thursday the 19th of July as to whether we will re-schedule the round or cancel it all together and offer a full refund of race entries.

Pretty rough year at the pro level
if CG and Peat don’t race, at Fort Williams, I wonder if we’ll see a 1st time champ

I’m just saying that it would be nice to see a little changing of the guard, if only for a short time

I’m hoping Peaty is all fixed for the World’s. I’m all for some of the new guys doing well but I really want Peaty to win the World’s at Fort Bill.
He’s come second so many times, he deserves a win. And a win at home as well will be the best. He’s said winning the World Cup at Fort Bill was one of the best moments of his life. It’s going to blow up if he wins.
Come on Peaty we’re all hoping your better for September!
