THE F14 Helmet
Wednesday, June 13th, 2007The F14 is a trail oriented helmet designed to offer more protection than a standard cross country model. We ended up with a pair to check out to see how they fit and function. Click the link below for more info.

The F14 is a nice looking helmet for those looking for a more trail oriented helmet that offers more rear head coverage. The F14 wraps lower and farther around your head than a standard issue XC helmet for added protection during a crash. The F14 comes in various colorways and sizes. THE offers the F14 in Red, Blue, Silver Race Graphic and the IZYK Design. The F14 is available in Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large. Our helmets looked great with quality paint jobs we’ve came to expect from THE. The fit was easy to dial in and the helmet never felt bulky.

The F14 has some great features which make it perform very well.
- Exceeds CPSC and CE standards
- In mold construction
- THE exclusive interior padding and exterior graphics
- 24 Air cooling vents and interior air channels
- THE comfort quick release buckle system
- THE exclusive G-Grab rear retention system
- Lock on visor with keyhole mounts
Due to its numerous cooling vents the F14 cooled nicely while riding. The visor is easily attachable and detachable via keyhole mounts built into the helmet.

THE F14 XL
The suggested retail for the THE F-14 helmet is $79.99. This price for the F14 is about the same other similar options from Giro, Fox, and Protec. The F14 does exceed CPSC and CE standards as well as offers other rider friendly features like replaceable padding, extensive venting, and adjustable fit system. These features along with THE’s quality construction make the F14 a nice choice for someone looking into buying a helmet that offers a bit more comprehensive coverage than a typical dirt jumping or XC helmet.
It’s always a good idea to try a helmet on before you buy so that you know what size you need. You can find a dealer in your area by going here.
