Update: Champéry, CH UCI World Cup #2 2007

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Day 2 is underway and was in full swing at Champery, CH. Sven Martin has got his photos up on Littermag as part of their day 2 coverage. Offtrack betting could win you a bike and its free!

The usual suspects were pinning it on the downhill, Peat, Hill, Minaar, Kovarik, Nico, and many others. Nicolas and Minaar are back on clipless pedals after their runs yesterday with flat pedals. If you missed the video from day 1, see it (here) as Jill Kintner shows just how steep the DH is.

The emergency helicoper’s got a good work out and made a few visits. When you go down on this course, you tend to slide or fall for a good while.

Team USA represented well on the 4x (Brian Lopes and Jill Kintner qualified 1st in 4x).

Sabrian is reported to being a little shakey after a little spill and Vanessa Quinn is rocking it back in the saddle after breaking her neck back in January.

Geritt Beytgah had a crash today as well. Minaar dislocated his shoulder, but its nothing new for him and hopefully will be good to go tomorrow.

Downhill should prove very interesting once the rain hits…
