Kirt Voreis Santa Cruz Allride Demo Tour

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Kirt Voreis rolled into So Cal today bringing his fleet of SRAM/ RockShox equipped Santa Cruz bicycles to San Diego for riders to satisfy their interest in which model would sweep them off their feet. With the assistance of Bicycle Warehouse, located at 5710 Kearny Villa Rd. in San Diego, and their knowledgeable staff on hand to assist, Voreis and his ace mechanic Travis Lucas, set up bikes and got people pedaling with off on Crankbrothers pedals into the hills to put the bikes through their paces.

Of the crowd, most were prospective buyers trying to narrow down their choice for purchase, and many die-hard Santa Cruz fans were drooling over which to add to their stable next. One beginner woman had researched the Juliana model, rode that, then tried out the Blur LT and was sold on the Blur. Jeff Blackmore has been in the market for a new bike and had researched the Nomad. Hearing that the demo was coming near his town he was able to ride it and that clinched the deal for him. He brought his friend Johnny Leach along, who brought his 9-year old son Brandon. With the Juliana model being a small frame it was perfect for Brandon, and it was his first mountain bike ride ever! Dad is sold on the Blur LT and Juliana, and stoked that the program had a bike small enough for his son to try.

What Voreis brings to the people is much more than great bikes. His enthusiasm shines as he dials in each bike for each rider. He wants to ensure that everyone has a great time and a quality experience. Johnny Leach says, “Kirt is such a nice guy. I’ve never met a professional athlete who is more personable and accommodating as Kirt. This is such a cool program and it was a great location. And the bike really surprised me, it pedaled so well. I thought it would be heavy, but it felt really light! And Brandon rode the Juliana and it is a great bike for him. It is a top of the line bike for his size, it was perfect. It’s a keeper bike, not a $300.00 piece of junk or garage sale material.”

Jeff Blackmore was equally impressed. “It was a very accommodating set-up. Kirt is there to find out what you want out of a bike and fits you to the bike you need. He and Travis set up the bikes for you and when you ride out of the parking lot, hitting the trail, you are completely dialed in.”

It was a great turnout with 40 riders who tried the bikes. Voreis says, “I was stoked even a few Kirt Voreis fans came out! And I was happy to see all the riders who came out to be fitted to a bike. I’d also like to thank the survivors that went on the ride after, which included my mom, Brenda, and also the marine, Aaron, who was the first to arrive and the last to leave.”

All the riders were treated to swag by Bicycle Warehouse and the over 21 crowd enjoyed ice cold beer from Kirt’s local Bend, Oregon brewery, Deschutes Brewery. Many bikes will be purchased from the experience the riders had today, but even more important they will all take home the great experience delivered by the enthusiastic Voreis.
