2008 Hayes Stroker Trail

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

For 2008, Hayes has got some new stuff that is definitly out of thier norm. One item of note, is the Hayes Stroker.

The official site for the Hayes Stroker can be seen here. Cycling news snapped a few pictures of it here.

“There was no leverage or contact point adjustment seen on the team’s particular model, but given the ‘Stroker Trail’ designation, we wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there is another version so-equipped already on hand.” Cycling News

It looks like these brakes are stepping away from the conventional Hayes look. Time and testing will tell. The design is a lot different than your standard Hayes lever and with relocating the master cylinder, this design is a lot more compact.

The caliper also is a two piece design and the lever is quite reminiscent of the Magura lever lineup, or earlier generation Formula’s with some tweaks to it (indexed dial to adjust reach).

It appears that the Hayes Group is now setting their eyes upon making a more complete lineup since they have acquired Hayes, Answer Products, and Sun Ringle (similar to SRAM who has SRAM/Truvativ/Avid).

What is the future for the EL-Camino’s..?

$179.99 MSRP per wheel.
