Review: Rock Shox Argyle 409
Tyler at BikeMag got to test out the Argyle 409 from Rock Shox. The Argyle 409 is built using 32mm 4130 steel stanchions and uses a Solo Air spring (other models have a coil spring). The Argyle is a fork that was designed to be rode agressively. Weighing in at 5.25lbs (claimed) the Argyle is built beefy enough (see arch) to withstand daily punishment but won’t weigh you down. For more information on the rest of the Argyle models check SRAM’s website.
“It did feel good to ride a fork with a little extra beef where it counts (although the fork could have used a stouter steerer tube). For those who land everything perfectly and straight every time, it might be overkill, but for the rest of us, the extra weight is negligible and the peace of mind is worth it.”
