Ft. William World Championships 2007

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Over at Dirt Magazine, Bob McFarlane has taken some pictures of the 2007 World Championship couse.  While it may be a year away still almost the backdrop and foundation for a sweet course is defintily the forcast.  Sam Hill in 07?  Time will tell.  Check out the link below for more pictures and info.

“The track starts off big with a hip jump in front of the balcony, which should be a crowd pleaser. I’ve not had a chance to test it yet as the landing is still a bit gloopey but its drying out so maybe in a week or two its should be sorted. Landing the jump the track then cuts right crosses under the gondola and over a stone causeway taking you into some tight flicky turns. Then over a step-down/fly-off into some fast turns with some wooden bridges to get you across the bottomless bog bringing you in to meet the old track at the second bus stop (the old avalanche start). But the diggers haven’t stopped there, that lovely, filling, rattling stone pitched straight has now had a bit of curviness added, easing you in gently to the rocky goodness of the second quarter.”
