Great tutorial, saves huge amount of time.
    Remember that hook?
It’s the best way to make it from cast (do you say so?), because it’s a cheap and fast procedure. Cast parts can be super strong when made correctly (even the dropouts on my SC VPFree are made from Al-Mg cast).

The guys at Sram just made the mistake to cool down that hook incorrectly. You can see it by the way the break looks. It’s fine at the border but rough at the inside. Must be fine all the way through to give it maximum strenght.

Anyway - thanks for the tutorial!

This was very very very well documented. Nicely done. Do know where I can find a how to on the front shifter?

I’ve got the part, but now I need to put it all back together and it’s a mess!

    Regards,

if you know of where I can find a diagram or how to on the front 2006 Sram x9 shifter please email me at ryanmitton@gmail.com cheers,
    Ryan.
